I am honored to be seeking reelection as your State Representative for Texas House District 114.
When I ran for this office last election cycle, I focused my campaign on priorities that are critical for our future: investing in our public schools, supporting our local governments and first responders, and helping restore a commitment to decency and problem-solving in government.
In my first session as your representative, I’ve done my best to put those words into action.
We had a major victory for public education in House Bill 3, which provides significant new funding for our students and teachers.
We were also able to achieve an almost 10 cent reduction in school district property tax rates, which will help make homeownership more affordable and will help our city continue to grow and thrive.
I was also proud to author and pass bills that better supported our first responders – who put their lives on the line to protect us every day.
Still, there is still plenty of work to be done – in strengthening our commitment to public education, making our colleges and universities second to none, improving our health care system, and passing critical public safety measures.
And, as a nation, we continue to face a politics full of destructive rhetoric and efforts to undermine our basic civic values.
Now is not the time to back away from our challenges. I am ready to go back to Austin next session and continue being part of the solution. I want to do my part to contribute to a better politics for the country we love, and to help make Texas the greatest state we can be.
I hope you will allow me to serve you again in 2021. I’d be honored to have your support.
